Princeton Research Data Service provides curation services for data submission for Princeton Data Commons as well as external data repositories.
What is data curation?
Data curation is the process of reviewing data submissions to ensure that the data is as findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (F.A.I.R.) as possible.
Who are data curators?
Data curators are data management experts.
Are data submissions in Princeton Data Commons curated?
Yes! All submissions must go through the curation process before being publically available in Princeton Data Commons.
Can I request curators to curate my submissions for repositories other than Princeton Data Commons?
Yes! Our data curators are happy to review your data submission for external repositories, especially repositories that do not have data curation practices (e.g. Zenodo, Dryad, Dataverse)
Timeline
The curation process is a back-and-forth between our curators and the person depositing the data. We ask that you plan for 5-10 business days.
