Description of Service
Princeton Research Data Service (PRDS) offers free feedback on draft data management plans (DMPs) and data management and sharing plans (DMSPs). We aim to keep the draft Plans confidential, however, there may be times when we need to reach out to other individuals on campus, such as ORPA, RIA, or OIT regarding your plan. This review is not a certification or a guarantee that your project will be funded by your funding agency.
Timelines
While we appreciate as much time as possible to review your Plan, the timeframe for requesting a thorough review is as follows:
- Single-lab or single-PI grants: no fewer than 5 business days prior to submission to ORPA;
- Complex, multi-institution grants or Centers: no fewer than 10 business days prior to submission to ORPA or other sponsored programs office/institution.
Information to keep in mind when requesting a review
- We review Plans on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- We are not permitted to write any part of a Plan on behalf of researchers. Instead, we are happy to make suggestions for improvement and answer your questions as part of our review and consultation services.
- Staff are available for assistance Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm ET. Any Plans or communication received outside of that timeframe will be considered part of the following business day.
- We offer two types of Plan review: Thorough and Light-Touch Reviews (more information below).
- We make every effort to review Plans submitted to us, however, due to the time it takes to thoroughly review a plan, Plans submitted after our requested time frame will be Light-Touch Reviews.
- Due to the time involved, we may not be able to provide feedback on Plans submitted to us for review the day-prior-to or the day-of their expected submissions to ORPA other sponsored programs office/institution. Please reach out and ask if you have any questions!
